I guess you would call this a diary blog? I started it with the intent of creating a place to remind me to write. I haven’t followed many of the rules of blogging. I haven’t chosen just one subject for myself. I skip around, sometimes writing about my excursions and everyday experiences, sometimes writing haikus. I throw in some pictures. I haven’t read the WordPress tutorial on blogging though it is on my list along with several other things I am reading, and I haven’t promoted myself on Facebook. I simply want a place to write and a little feedback from time to time. A base camp, if you will. There are some recurrent themes on my blog. I like going to new and interesting places. I like to take pictures of those places and talk about my experiences. I like nature, animals and the beach. I like walking and hiking and reading and writing.
My goal is to develop a craft. I work in the corporate world. I have an interesting job and I’m grateful for it, but I still want to write, too. My hope is that if I keep taking the next step I’ll eventually become a real writer, whether I’m famous or not. Not really sure what I think of fame, anyway.
I’m a southern girl. I live in the southeast U.S. at the beach and I love it, but I burn like bacon in the sun so my love for the ocean has been a little tricky to navigate. It’s one of the paradoxes of my life and it is where I got the name for my blog.
Well, that’s it for now. There is more I could say but that’s enough. I expect this journey to morph throughout time so we’ll see where it goes. Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. If I see your name, I’ll go by and check yours out, too.
